This is a welcome new event (starting 2023) organised by the Writtle University College on a Good Friday. It starts and finishes at the college, formally known as Writtle Agricultural College, on the outskirts of Chelmsford. It has a lovely 5 mile rural course using quiet country lanes and byways with almost no traffic. The first event had a couple minor issues, with no distance markers and no water station. The water-station is debatable given it is only 5 miles and run in April, but the first year was fairly warm so a water-station at 3 or 4 miles would have been welcome. It is a relaxed, enjoyable event and well worth attending, hopefully it will become a regular feature at Easter.

Car parking is free and plentiful in the college car-park. The car park is approximately 800 metres from the start, where you pick-up your race number. The start does have a bag drop, so it is worth taking a small bag to drop-off rather than trudging all the way back to your car.

The race will not be run in 2025, but is planned to return in 2026.
