Run Orwell is a multi-terrain event based in the village of Orwell, which is actually in Cambridgeshire, but has been included as it is within 15 miles of the Essex border and a number of Essex runners compete. It is 2 races, a 5k event and a 10k event, with the 10k doing two laps of the course. The route is predominately on bridle ways and footpaths, with just over 1k on roads on each circuit. It is a small event with under 100 runners and the off-road part has lovely views over the Cambridgeshire wheat fields. The event HQ and the finish is at the Recreation Ground.
Car parking is free in a local field, but is a 15 minute walk from the HQ and is a bit of a slog after running 10k. However, there does seem to be plenty of places to park in the roads next to the finish.
