This is a relatively new race in the calendar, first ran in 2016 and set in the riverside town of Burnham-on-Crouch. The race starts and finishes at the Denge One Hundred Sports Centre. The route goes through the attractive town centre before heading out in a loop through the outskirts of the town, then mainly on footpaths, before reaching the sea wall. The last 4k or so runs alongside the estuary. This section generally goes against the prevailing wind and is a challenging finish. The event is maybe not quite as sleekly organised as some of the more established events, but that doesn't affect the enjoyment and it is an event well worth trying. Car parking is ample and free in the field by the Sports Centre. Entry is allowed on the day, depending upon spaces being available. One slight disappointment, is a rather underwhelming medal, for those interested in that sort of stuff.
