This is a pleasant and low-key event that takes place in June and is based in the village of Steeple Bumpstead on the Essex / Suffolk borders. It is predominately run on footpaths and bridleways, with only a couple of short stretches on roads. Because some of the footpaths are single file and there is the occasional bridge and gate to overcome, it is not a race for a PB, but is a lovely course through and around cornfields. It also goes past the impressive Elizabethan manor house of Moyns Park and the pretty village of Birdbrook. Car parking is free and on the field next to the start and finish. One minor niggle is there was only one water station. Given it is enviably run on a scorching hot June day, a second water station near the finish would be welcomed by runners.
