A very nice and friendly ParkRun based at the Recreational Ground in Great Dunmow. It has a small field of around 100 runners and walkers in the summer and slightly less in the winter. The route is two laps of the park. It is almost all on grass and can get a little muddy in the winter, especially the short stretch through a wood that is done twice. Buggies and dogs are allowed, although pushing a buggy through a muddy wood in the winter is a challenge. Car parking is free and in the small park car park, which has spare places in the winter, but can get busier in the summer. However, there is ample free parking at the Helena Ramones School which is only a 5 minute walk away. There is a nice pub called the Angel & Harp 5 minutes walk from the finish where runners go for a post-run coffee or breakfast. It has a large garden at the back.
