Review by Priory Bazley, Chelmsford Runner (March 2023)

This was a beautiful road race around Writtle and the countryside behind the college. It was a new race so had a fairly small field of runners, but I can imagine that it will get busier as it continues. It was such a pleasant run, with a few rolling hills, but nothing too difficult. It was a road race where the roads were not closed for the event so a couple of cars to be aware of, but in general it was such a beautiful quiet route. The only note I would have is the distance between the car park and the start line, there was no real indication that it would be such a long walk so we would have missed the start if we hadn't been completely prepared when going to register at the start line and use the bathrooms- don't leave anything in the car to go back for. Food/drinks trucks are at the line.
