Epping Forest is 6,000 acres of woodland that straddles Essex and Greater London. The event is organised by Wildwood Trails and is a 2-distance event; Half-Marathon and 10k. The route is entirely on footpaths and bridle ways and is nearly all in the forest, so is very scenic. It is not an event for a PB, as much of the route is on uneven ground and lots on single track paths. There are also a few small hills. The 10k is one lap of the circuit and starts at 9.30. The half is two laps and starts a 9am. The 10k is slightly longer than 10k, to bring into line with half-marathon distance. 

The race start and finish is at Chingford Plain car park, which is to the south of the forest. Car parking is nearby and plentiful and costs around £3 for 2 hours, £5 for more.
