This event is one of the larger events in the area attracting fields close to 1,000 runners, although the average is around 800. The run starts and finishes in Chelmsford’s Central Park and goes through into Admirals Park. It is a one lap circuit and is nearly all on made-up footpaths. Given the large field, if you are a faster runner and after a fast time, it is best to get near the front at the start to avoid congestion. Car parking is a little challenging as there is not a Central Park car park as such. There are a number of public car parks around, the best is the Chelmsford Market multi-story car park. There is always plenty of room and is not too pricy and is about a 10 minute walk to the start. There is a nice open-air café in the park for a post-run coffee, you will see the cafe near the start of the run. It is one of the ParkRuns that has a Christmas Day event.
